On July 1, 2024, the newest class of Psychiatry Residents began clinical duty on the MSH campus. The Psychiatry Residency program is a four-year accredited program that accepts six residents each year. Heading into its fourth year, the arrival of the latest group marks the first time the program will operate at full capacity.
Dr. Jon Jackson, Program Director, shared that this year, the MSH Psychiatry Residency program received over 500 applicants for the six positions available. The team interviewed over 80 applicants, with all six positions matching in the initial round of the National Resident Matching Program. All residents selected are from the south, and three are Mississippi natives.
Welcome to Mississippi State Hospital, Class of 2028!
